Wildlife Collections

From the curious wolf, to the elegant Koi fish, Kendahl’s wildlife paintings encompass all of the animal kingdom. Discover her distinct watercolor paintings of gila monsters and crocodiles, waterfowl of ducks and egrets; along with big cats and wild dogs.

Bears

May Grizzly is inspired by the Grizzly Bears in Glacier National Park, Montana. June is the good month for Grizzlies in the Rocky Mountains.

Friendly Forest is filled with Rocky Mountain wildflowers, Ponderosa Pine Trees and Montana Songbirds, with a Great Grey Owl, a Montana Cougar and ground squirrels. The wildflowers are Trillium, Calipso Orchids, also called fairly slippers, and Glacier Lilies, which are abundant in Galcier Natioanl Park in June.

Fall Bear was painted after a Black Bear in the Rattlesnake Mountains near Missoula, Montana. The black bear was eating Service Berries along Rattlesnake Creek

August Forest portrays a Grizzly Bear in Glacier Natioanl Park in Northwestern Montana. Ravens, Ruffed Grouse,Western Tanagerand Swainson's Thrush are birds seen frequenty in Western Montana and Glacier Natioanl Park. Friendly Forest by Kendahl Jan Jubb, also includes a Bull Moose, without antlers, a chipmonk, and a Douglas Pine Squirrel.

Cedar Forest portrays two Black Bears in a cedar tree forest in Northwest Montana, west of Glacier National Park. Red Fox, White Tail Deer, and a Varied Thrush and American Robin are depicted. The Montana Wildflowers are Ladyslippers, Paintbrush, Arnica, Trillium, Thimbleberry.

June Forest is an ortiginal watercolor painting by Kendahl Jan Jubb. This painting is two black bears in Glacier National Park in Northwestern Montana. The Montana wildflowers that Kendahl Jan Jubb included in this watercolor painting are Arrowleaf Balsamroot, Arnica, Paintbrush, Lady Slipper, and Lupine in a forest of Ponderosa Pine and Aspen. There are Swainson's Thrush, Yellow Rump Warbler and Rufous Hummingbird.

Dutch Creek Day Hike is a watercolor on canvas painting by Kendahl Jan Jubb. It depicts wildlife and flora in the Northfork area of Glacier National Park. A largfe Black Bear roams in an Aspen Tree forest with anotyhret Black Bear in the the background as well as White Tail Deer, a Mountain Lion, a Montana Pine Marten. There are several warblers as well as a Lewis AWoodpecker and an Amercian Robin.

Fall Forest is an original watercolor painting by Kendahl Jan Jubb. It is a watercolor of two Black Bears in Autumn in the Rocky Mountains of Northwestern Montana. Snow Berries and Ninebark in the foreground and a Red Fox in the background.

Birds

In Missoula, Montana city limits, Roosters are not allowed. If there is a complaint, yoiu will be forced to send your Rooster to Bitterroot or Flathead Valley or some other place in Western Montana.

Ravens are one of Kendahl Jan Jubb's favorite birds to use as an expression in her paintings of Montana birds. Raven's are plentiful arfound Missoula County and can be viewed in Western Montana. Ravens are in Glacier National Park and Missouri River.

The Bitterroot River, Blackfoot River, Flathead River Glacier National Park in Western Montana are nesting areas for Great Blue Herons.

Bird Blast is a watercolor painting of Western Montana flying birds, by Kendahl Jan jubb of Missoula, MT. Many of the birds, such as the Great Blue Herons, the snow goose and the Cinnamon Teal are found in the Bitterroot Valley. The Kestrel and the Great Grey Owl can be found in Western Montana as well as Yellowstone Natioanl Park.

Backyard Sharpie is an original watercolor by Kendahl Jan Jubb showing Sharp Shinned Hawk that is common in MIssoula and Western Montana. Sharp Shinned Hawks hunt all of Montana, but are very common in Glaicier National Park as well as the Bitterroot Valley.

Swirling throughput Western Montana, Corvids are striking presenty around Glacier Natioanl Park. Ravnes, Magpies, Stellar Jays and even Eastern Blue Jays are plentiful in Missoula, Montana.

MidWest Watergarden shows two Great Blue Herons fishing in a pond off of a stream or river. A Cinnamon Teal is swimming past the GReat Blue Herons as they stand among Water Lilies.

Spring Kestrel is a Kestrel perched in an Aspen gtree in full plumage in Western Montana, by the Bitterroot River.

Resting Raven is an original watercolor painting of an adult Raven in Western Montana. Raven are plentiful in the forests and roadways of Montana. Thery are the largest of Montana Corvids.

5 Valleys Flyway is an original watercolor painting by Kendahl Jan Jubb. There are 27 flyong bird species that nesxting birds in Western Montana. There is a Great Blue Heron and Tumpeter Swan in the middle with a Red Tail Hawk, American Robin, Raven and Magpie.

The Western Screech can be heard calling in the morning in the Rattlesnake Mountains in Western Montana. They are common in the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana and can be viewed in Yelowstone National; Park. They can be heard at lower elevations in the Flathead Valley and Mission Mountains.

Cats

Rock Creek Cougar is an original watercolor by famous Montana artist Kendahl Jan Jubb. The watercolor painting is of a adult cougar in Rock Creek, a wild area by Missoula, Montana. There is Arrowleaf Balsamroot, Paintbrush, Shooting Stars in the foreground to name some of the Montana Wildflowers in the watercolor painting.

Dogs

Grey Wolves were reistated to Yellowstone Park in the early 1990's and have florished and increased their numbers and range. They are now in the Bitterroot Mountains and Western Montana.

Missoula Valley and Western Montana, as well as the Bitterrroot and Flathead have red foxes denning in most areas.

Refd Fox in a mid Spring forest in Western Montana. Fox are raising their kits atrpund Ap[ril and May when the widlflowers in the Rocky Mountains are green leaves awaiting the flowers to bloom, Red Fox are very common in Glacier National Park as well as Yellowstone National Park.

Kendahl Jan Jubb paints cutthroat, Bull Trout and rainbow Trout that she views in Western Montana. The rivers, such as the Clark Fork, the Lochsa and Rock Creek are plentiful with schools of trout and great and popular places to fish for trout.

The Bitterrrot River and Blackfoot River near Missoula, Montana are home to all the native species of Trout.

Still Llife Collections

Lush gardens landscapes and intricate bouquets display the fine details of Kendahl’s brush strokes. Floral worlds of lilies, orchids, poppies, and sunflowers are displayed in all their grandeur.

Garden

Climbing vines often display Datura, Morning Glory and Flowering Trumpets. These flowers were sighted in the SOMA District of San Francisco. Heavenly Blue Morning Glory grace many gardens in Missoula, Montana.

Kendahl Jan Jubb's poppy paintings have been created for over 40 years. Oriental Poppies grace her garden and afre a sourced of joy and inspiration. Oriental Poppy paintings have been in her gallery and many other galleries in the Northwest.

Moonflowers are not native to Missoula nort Montana. They grow in gardens in the Rattlesnake Valley, Bitterrot Valley and Flathead Valley. They start to bloom after sunset and throughout the early morning. They will not survive the Montana Winter and must be moved indoors. They are then hardy indoor palnts.

Dalhia flowers are extremely popilar garden flowers in Western Montana. They grace gardens in Missoula and Bozeman and landscapers from MIssoula in Glacier Natioanl Park to Yellowstone grow them in the summer, remove them and replant in the late spring.Dahlias are very hardy whern treated in this manner.

Although Canna does not winter over in Montana, there are several gardens in MIssoula that grow Canna in the summer.

The gardens in India and Hawaii and Southern California are abound with Tropical orchids. In Montana Orchid gardens are all indoors.

Kendahl Jan Jubb has spent many, many hours in tropical forests. Orchids and Cann Lilies are two of her favorite plants , having spent much time in Hawaii and India. Her tropical gardens are in many collections in Montana and all over the world.

Still Life – Floral

Glacier National Park has Lady Slipper Orchids in shaded forests. Lady Slipper Orchids are plantiful in deeper forests of Westrern Montana.

Paintbrush graces the forests nd hillsides of Western Montana. With a Terracotta Pot exhibiting Trout and lemons on the rug it is Still painting with a Tanagewr on a moss covered branch.

Sunflower still life paintings are famous by Kendahk Jan Jubb. Sunflower gardens grace Missoula and Western Montana.

Green Bowl with Swallows displays Irises out of Kendhl Jan Jubb's garden. The iconic blue in Kendahl's unique pallette is offset by the hot red background and the green bowlk with flying swallows. The variety of the irises is particularly appealing. Green Bowl with Swallows is a complex still life of blue and purple iris against a scarlet background. The green ceramic vase is the focal point and completes the design, balancing the interacting cool and warm elements.
