James Hewes
James Hewes' first love is geometric
form, but he displays tremendous innovation with the human figure, in his
ceramic sculpture. He devises his own glazes to a very unique and organic
pitch. His free-form sculptures capture the wind, earth, fire, and water -
as well as more subtle elements. His wall hangings are a very, very unique
display of his understanding of the interplay between clay and spirit.
