Kendahl Jan Jubb's wildlife and animal
paintings and artwork include bears, canines, such as foxes, wolves, and
dogs, tigers and other cats and reptiles including iguanas and Gila
Monsters. Kendahl especially loves to paint the wildlife and animals of the
Pacific Northwest, but through her travels she has encountered the wildlife
of the world and has added these animals to her themes. Big cats are also
well represented in her nature artwork, with tiger paintings being her
favorite subject. Kendahl has illustrated a children's book on big cats, due
out October 2005, by Walker Books of New York and she has gone on several
tiger, bird and other wildlife viewing safaris in northern India. Fish and
bird paintings and artwork are especially represented in her repertoire.
Kendahl's animal paintings include fox, wolf, coyote, with dog paintings
created as commissions. Aside from mammal paintings, Kendahl's nature
artwork also encompasses reptiles, with iguana artwork, Gila Monster
paintings and even dragon paintings available in watercolor. Kendahl spends
many hours every spring and summer observing waterfowl, with duck, geese and
swan paintings being represented in her gallery and museum shows, as well as
in her commission work. The Holland America Line's newest vessel, ms.
Westerdam, exhibits Kendahl's waterfowl paintings in it's luxury cabins. Koi
paintings are a favorite of Kendahl's and her koi artwork has garnered her
much acclaim.
